Dreams - It’s never too late!
I mean, look at me… for my 40th birthday I decided to treat myself to guitar lessons, which is something I’d always wanted to do ever since I was a kid, but, well hey, sometimes you have to wait for the right moment. Oh, man…. It’s been five years now and I’m so glad I went for it! It’s awesome. Since I was kind of late to the party, I found myself surrounded by life-long musicians, and feeling like I’d never be able to play as well as them at the pace I was going. It was a pretty normal pace, but… as I have a lot less time to become proficient (well isn’t that a bit MORBID!!), I thought it might be a good idea to add a little Music Theory to the mix as a way to ‘catch up.’ Boy did that ever crank things up a notch! Two years of it! Though it was certainly a lot more than I imagined, I’m amazed and inspired, and I learned a lot more than I ever dreamed of learning about music.
Now, the dream continues to evolve - As I keep learning more, I can’t wait to learn even more… Meanwhile I continue to work very hard towards becoming an awesome musician. Stay tuned!
